Second Best Month in Airport History

The number of passengers flying in and out of Växjö Småland airport in August was an impressive 27,257. That’s a new record for August travelers and only 243 passengers behind the airport’s busiest month ever which was recorded in May 2000. August 2017 saw a passenger increase of 54% compared to the same month in 2016.

“To once again be able to experience a record-setting month feels great. The fact that all lines are showing improvement confirms that we have interesting alternatives. During 2017, passengers have been able to choose from 18 destinations and this will increase to at least 19 in 2018,” said Ulf Axelsson, CEO, Växjö Småland Airport.

The prognoses for 2017 is a grand total of just over 230,000 passengers.
